Yasuji Maeda (September 21, 1913 - January 16, 1982) was a Japanese researcher in crafts and an emeritus professor at Tokyo University of the Arts. He taught Japanese metalworking history, Eastern art history, and crafts theory. Born in Ōmori, Tokyo, he graduated from the University of Tokyo. Maeda served in various roles including at the Tokyo Imperial Museum and as an associate professor at Tokyo School of Fine Arts, becoming a full professor in 1959 and retiring in 1977. He was also involved in cultural property protection and judging traditional crafts exhibitions.
