Yasushi Uchiyama (1931-1992) was a Japanese entrepreneur and the founder of Lasertech Co., Ltd. Born in Hiroshima, he graduated from Hiroshima Technical School. After a prolonged battle with tuberculosis, he joined Matsushita Communication Industry and contributed to X-ray television development. In 1960, he established Nippon Automatic Control Co. and later developed groundbreaking devices in semiconductor inspection and scanning laser microscopy, leading to rapid corporate growth. The company renamed itself Lasertech in 1986. Uchiyama passed away in 1992, but the company continued to thrive.
