Yevhen Shypovych was a Ukrainian geographer, born on December 23, 1922, in Kyiv. He completed his education at the Kyiv Pedagogical Institute in 1949 and pursued further studies at Kyiv University. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1965 with a dissertation focusing on the economic-geographical characteristics of Zaporizhia. Shypovych served as an assistant, senior lecturer, and later as an associate professor in the Department of Economic Geography at Kyiv University from 1962 to 1988. He passed away on October 10, 2003.
