He completed his education at Ege University, majoring in journalism. Özdil started his career at Yeni Asır and held significant positions at various major Turkish newspapers, including Milliyet, Sabah, and Hürriyet. He has also worked as a news director for Star TV and Sözcü TV. Özdil resigned from his role at Sözcü TV in March 2023. He is married and has one daughter.
