Yiombi Patrick Thona, born on October 2, 1966, is a former politician and bureaucrat from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who sought asylum in South Korea in 2002. Currently residing in Gwangju, South Korea, he serves as a full time lecturer at Gwangju University. He is also a professor at Chonnam National University. As of January 2025, he is finishing his law degree (JD) at a North American university and is active as a social activist.
