Yitzhak Harel, born as Yitzhak Schwartz in 1957, is an Israeli military figure and the current CEO of Israel Railways. Harel served as a major general in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), commanding the Northern Corps before transitioning to head the Planning Directorate. He joined the IDF's Combat Engineering Corps in 1975 and rose through the ranks, becoming a battalion commander at 27. He holds a B.A. in state affairs from the University of Haifa and lives in Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut with his wife Dafna and their two children.
