Ylmar de Almeida Correia was a Brazilian doctor and politician born on November 12, 1916, in Florianópolis and passed away on December 19, 1977, in the same city. He was the son of physician Carlos José da Mota de Azevedo Correia and Maria Guiomar de Almeida Correia. Ylmar graduated in medicine in 1939 and later served as a deputy in the Santa Catarina Legislative Assembly from 1947 to 1955, elected as part of the Social Democratic Party.
