Yogi Adityanath, born Ajay Singh Bisht on June 5, 1972, is an Indian priest and Hindutva politician. He took office as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on March 19, 2017, following the Bharatiya Janata Party's majority win in the state assembly elections, where he was a prominent campaigner. He has been a Member of Parliament representing the Gorakhpur constituency five times since 1998. Additionally, he is the head priest of the Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur and founded the Hindu Yuva Vahini, a youth organization.
