Yoshiaki Nakagawa is a former officer of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, born in Hyogo Prefecture in February 1955. He graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Engineering, majoring in Nuclear Engineering, in 1978, and later completed a master's program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Nakagawa served as the commander of the 1st Division and the head of the Research and Development Command of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, achieving the rank of JGSDF General.
