He is a member of multiple literary organizations, including the Japan PEN Club and the Saitama Poets' Club. In addition to writing poetry, Hoshi is also active in poetry readings. He was born in the city of Imaichi, now part of Nikkō, and currently resides in Koshigaya, Saitama Prefecture.
