She graduated from the University of Tokyo and began her career in theater before transitioning to screenwriting. Morishita's notable works include 'Sekai no Chushin de, Ai wo Sakebu' and 'Gochisousan,' for which she received several awards, including the Television Drama Academy Award. She has also faced criticism for her adaptation of 'Black Jack.' Morishita frequently collaborates with actress Haruka Ayase.
