He served as the representative of Kirisato Farm and held the position of chairman of the Nationwide Organic Agriculture Promotion Council, a non-profit organization. Kaneko also had a political career as a former member of the Ogawa Town Council, contributing significantly to the promotion and advocacy of organic farming practices in Japan.
