Kamide served as an esteemed professor emeritus at Nagoya University and was the director of the Rikubetsu Space and Earth Science Museum. He hailed from Otaru, Hokkaido, and made significant contributions to the field of geophysical sciences, particularly in studying the phenomena of auroras.
