Yuri Gurievich Antomonov (1929—1999) was a notable Soviet and Ukrainian scientist specializing in mathematical modeling of biological systems. He held a doctorate in biological sciences and was a candidate of technical sciences. Antomonov was a professor and an academician of the Ukraine Academy of Informatics. He played a key role in the development of biological and medical cybernetics and informatics in the USSR, co-founding the scientific direction of biocybernetics alongside prominent figures like V. Glushkov and N. Amosov. Antomonov authored over 250 scientific works, including about 40 monographs, some of which were translated and published abroad.
