Yurii Makarov is a Ukrainian journalist, TV presenter, documentarian, and writer originally from Russia, born on April 24, 1955. He served as the editor-in-chief of 'The Ukrainian Week' magazine until 2009 and later became the editor-in-chief of Suspilne in 2019. Makarov also held the position of Chairman of the Taras Shevchenko National Award Committee of Ukraine. He is recognized as an Honored Journalist of Ukraine and is a member of PEN Ukraine.
