Yury Karpilovich (1934-2020) was a prominent Belarusian computer engineer and constructor. He was awarded the USSR State Prize in 1970 for developing the Minsk computer and the Lenin Prize in 1983 for the AS EM computer system. Karpilovich earned a Candidate of Technical Sciences degree in 1984 and became a professor in 1990. He worked at the Minsk Electronic Computing Machines Plant, later becoming the chief engineer and plant director. Additionally, he taught at the Minsk Radio Engineering Institute and authored textbooks and memoirs.
