Kuznetsov was awarded the Lenin Prize in 1980 and served as a corresponding member of the Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences. From 1987 to 2008, he was the chief designer at VNII RT within the Almaz-Antey Air Defense Consortium, focusing on developing radar systems for air defense complexes.
