Yury Borisovich Rubin is a Soviet and Russian economist, born on May 17, 1956, in Kemerovo, RSFSR. He is a co-founder of the new functional theory of entrepreneurship and creator of a constructive theory of competition in entrepreneurship. He developed concepts related to the quality of entrepreneurial education and competitiveness of educational organizations. Rubin authored the first textbooks on business management and entrepreneurship competition for higher education in Russia. He served as the rector (1995-2019) and is currently the president (since 2019) of Synergy University. He holds a doctorate in economics and has received several academic honors.
