Yury Yashin was a Soviet military commander born on February 12, 1930, in Leningrad and passed away on July 30, 2011, in Moscow. He held the rank of army general and served as the commander of the 50th Rocket Army. Yashin was the First Deputy Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces of the USSR and also served as the Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR. He was the Chairman of the State Technical Commission and was a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR during its 11th convocation.
