Yury Borisovich Zubarev (February 9, 1938 – April 21, 2023) was a Soviet and Russian scientist specializing in communication and computer science, cryptographic protection, radio transmission systems, and television systems. He served as the rector of the All-Union Correspondence Electrotechnical Institute of Communications from 1971 to 1979, was the Deputy Minister of Communications of the USSR from 1979 to 1992, and directed the Research Institute of Radio from 1992 to 2004. He became a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1997.
