Yusef Lateef (October 9, 1920 - December 23, 2013) was an American jazz artist, musician, composer, and music educator, known for his innovative blend of jazz with Eastern music. He was also a spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community after converting to Islam in 1950. His primary instruments were the saxophone and flute, and he won a Grammy Award in 1987 for his work 'Little Symphony'. Lateef's unique approach to music set him apart in the jazz genre.
