Yuzuru Yamaoka was a Japanese ceramic artist born on December 12, 1933, in Fukuoka Prefecture. He was known as the second-generation potter of the Kyushu-based Ueno-yaki Tetsuzan kiln, which has its roots in the Ueno-yaki pottery tradition. His work is recognized for continuing the legacy of this traditional craft, contributing to the art of Japanese ceramics. He passed away on June 14, 2009.
