Yves Henri Chardon was a French composer and cellist born on December 27, 1902, in Villiers-sur-Marne. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris where he won the Premier prize in 1918. Chardon served as a professor at the Athens Conservatory and held prominent positions as principal cellist in various orchestras, including the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Havana Symphony Orchestra. He also founded the Florida Symphony Orchestra and spent 25 years performing with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York before retiring in New Hampshire. He passed away on March 6, 2000, in Nashua.
