Yvonne Seon is an American professor and Unitarian Universalist minister born on December 20, 1937. She specializes in African studies, African American studies, and government administration. Seon served as an administrative officer in Patrice Lumumba's government in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and worked in the U.S. federal government. She later became a university administrator, established a Black Studies Center at Wright State University, and contributed to the development of one of the first doctoral programs in Black Studies in the U.S. In 1981, she became the first African American woman ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister.
