Z.A. Shamsul Haq was a prominent figure in the judicial system of Bangladesh, serving as the first Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka from 1979 to 1988. He played a significant role for over a decade in shaping the operations of the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistracy. After his retirement, he continued his service as an adviser to the Bangladesh Scouts. In 1990, he published 'Handbook for Magistrates,' which has become an essential reference for magistrates in Bangladesh.
