Zachary Allan Recht, also known as Z. A. Recht, was an American writer born on February 4, 1983, in Bunker Hill, West Virginia. He is known for his debut novel, The Plague of the Dead, published in 2006, which is the first volume of the Morningstar Virus trilogy. His second novel, The Ashes of the Dead, was released in 2008. His third novel, Survivors, was completed by another author and published on June 19, 2012. Recht passed away at home on December 10, 2009, at the young age of 26.
