Dato' Zainal Abidin Ahmad was a Malaysian politician born on 10 October 1939 and passed away on 25 March 2010. He served as the Member of Parliament for the Hulu Selangor constituency and was associated with the Parti Keadilan Rakyat within the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. Previously, he was a member of the State Assembly for Selangor representing UMNO and served as Deputy Menteri Besar. He switched to the opposition in 2005 and won his parliamentary seat in 2008. His death led to a by-election that was won by a Barisan Nasional candidate.
