Zbigniew Mikoś was a soldier of the Home Army (AK) and a notable activist in the Lower Silesian opposition during the early 1980s. He served in the Kedyw during World War II and was imprisoned for six years afterward. On his release, he supported the Solidarity movement in Lower Silesia and urged its leaders to prepare for underground struggle, doubting the authorities' peaceful declarations. He died shortly before martial law was introduced in Poland. Mikoś inspired the character Tadeusz Markucia in the film '80 Million'.
