Zbigniew Szacherski was a Polish Army colonel born on January 25, 1901, in Pułtusk and died on September 28, 1985, in Warsaw. Participating in the Polish-Soviet War, he rose through ranks to commands during World War II, notably leading cavalry units. Szacherski was severely injured in 1939 and later joined the Home Army. After the war, he became the director of the Museum of the Polish Army. His writings include memoirs published in 1966. He was awarded numerous honors, including the Order of Virtuti Militari.
