Zdeněk Kabelka was a Czech physician, pediatrician, and otorhinolaryngologist born on December 15, 1951, in Prague. He initiated the cochlear implantation program in the Czech Republic, helping children with hearing impairments regain their hearing. Kabelka successfully implanted cochlear devices in approximately 520 children and performed numerous procedures on patients with common ear, nose, and throat (ENT) diagnoses. He served as the head of the ENT clinic at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and FN Motole from 1998 until his death in 2014.
