Zdenko Krnić was a Yugoslav and later Serbian chess player and author, born on October 2, 1947, in Maribor and passing away on July 23, 2010, in Belgrade. He debuted in the Yugoslav Championship in 1970 and became an International Master in 1976. His notable achievement includes finishing second in the Yugoslav Championship in 1980. He worked with Chess Informant from 1971 and became its editor in 1996. His highest Elo rating was 2450 in January 1990.
