Nakayama Zenye was a prominent leader in the Tenrikyo religious movement, serving as the third Shinbashira from 1967 to 1998. Born on July 7, 1932, he was the eldest son of Nakayama Shōzen, the second Shinbashira, and the great-great-grandson of Tenrikyo's founder, Nakayama Miki. His leadership spanned over three decades, during which he contributed to the teachings and expansion of Tenrikyo before his passing on June 24, 2014.
