He was a member of the Union of Soviet Writers from 1962 and a member of the Communist Party since 1957. Avetisyan passed away on December 26, 2001, in Yerevan, Armenia. His contributions to literature encompass poetry and prose, reflecting the cultural heritage of Armenia during a time of significant historical change.
