Ziad Abuzayyad is a Palestinian journalist, lawyer, and politician born on April 3, 1940, in Al-Eizariya. He served as a Minister of State in Yasser Arafat's third government from August 9, 1998, to June 13, 2002. Abuzayyad was elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council in 1996, receiving 8,434 votes in the Jerusalem district. In 2006, he was expelled from the Fatah movement by its Central Committee. Additionally, he co-founded the quarterly magazine Palestine-Israel in 1994 with journalist Victor Zigelman.
