After enduring persecution and surviving Auschwitz-Birkenau and Stutthof concentration camp, he was liberated in May 1945. Moving to England in 1947, he dedicated his life to educating others about the Holocaust, sharing his experiences in schools. For his significant contributions, he was awarded the British Empire Medal in 2016 for over two decades of advocacy and education.
