Zinaida Gergiel was a Ukrainian woman born on May 5, 1915, in Marcelówka. Notably, in the summer of 1943, she saved a Polish family, the Zarembas, from attacks by OUN-UPA units. Her bravery was officially recognized in 2019 when she was awarded the Medal of Virtus et Fraternitas. She passed away on September 13, 1989, in Włodzimierz Wołyński.
