Zirl Augustus Palmer (1920–1982) was an African-American businessman and civil rights activist based in Lexington, Kentucky. He founded Palmer's Pharmacy in 1952 and played a significant role in the city's desegregation efforts. As the first Black member of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees, he faced KKK violence, including a bombing in 1968. Palmer was active in mentoring youth and involved with several organizations, including the NAACP. He was honored posthumously, and his contributions to the community are recognized through various initiatives and memorials.
