He graduated in 1954 from the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry in Ljubljana and earned his doctorate in 1972 from the Faculty of Forestry in Zagreb. As a forestry expert, he researched forest vegetation and the ecology of forest habitats, authoring over 50 scientific and professional articles. He passed away in 2020.
