Zoja Mikotová is a Czech director and university educator born on January 13, 1951, in Brno. After graduating high school, she worked as a visual artist, graphic designer, and theater technician. She studied drama direction and pantomime methodology at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. From 1980 to 1990, she served as a director and choreographer at the Radost Puppet Theatre. In 1992, she founded a studio for Deaf Education at JAMU, where she promotes theater for the Deaf and conducts numerous workshops and presentations internationally.
