Zoltán Novotny is a Hungarian sports journalist and commentator born on May 19, 1940, in Budapest. He has been a significant figure in Hungarian sports journalism since 1966. Novotny is a lifelong member of Hungarian Radio and a distinguished journalist awarded the Táncsics Mihály Prize, the Golden Pen, and the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary. He has reported on every summer Olympics since 1968, with the Rio Games being his thirteenth event covered. He also serves as the honorary president of the Hungarian Sports Journalists Association.
