Zoya Ivanovna Baranova (née Radimova) was a Soviet zoologist born on December 26, 1922, in Ryazhsk, and passed away on April 22, 2010. She specialized in echinoderms and authored 35 scientific publications. Baranova earned her Candidate of Biological Sciences degree in 1952 and served as the head of the echinoderm section at the Marine Research Laboratory of the Zoological Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences from 1960 to 1983. She is notably recognized as the discoverer of the sea cucumber species Cucumaria djakonovi.
