Zuo Fang, born Huang Keji on November 18, 1934, in Guangzhou, Guangdong, was a Chinese media figure and a co-founder of Southern Weekly. He served in the military in 1950 and later studied Chinese language and literature at Peking University, graduating in 1962. Zuo began his career at Southern Daily and played a pivotal role in establishing Southern Weekly, which first published in February 1984. He became the editor-in-chief in June 1991 and continued to contribute until his retirement in 1995. Zuo passed away on November 3, 2021.
