Zygmunt Wiktor Antoni Mitera was born on January 17, 1903, in Skołyszyn. He was a scout, doctor of applied geophysics, entrepreneur, and lecturer. Mitera served as a reserve second lieutenant in the communication branch of the Polish Army. Tragically, he became a victim of the Katyń massacre during the spring of 1940 in Kharkiv, a grave historical atrocity affecting many Polish officers.
