Born on April 2, 1933, in Sääksmäki and passing away on March 24, 1989, in Tampere, he significantly contributed to Finnish music. By 2008, he had become Finland's 16th most recorded studio musician, with 2,894 recordings to his name. Jazz music was particularly close to his heart. He is buried in Malmi Cemetery, Block 87-14-330.
