Abdul Amir al-Jamri (1937 - December 18, 2006) was a prominent Shia cleric in Bahrain and a leading figure in the 1990s uprising advocating for the restoration of parliamentary life. He studied at the Najaf Seminary from 1969 to 1973 and was elected to Bahrain's first parliament. Al-Jamri served as a judge in Bahrain's Jaafari Court until his dismissal in 1988. He faced multiple arrests for political activism, including a 15-year sentence in 1996, but was released in 1999. He suffered a stroke in 2002 and remained ill until his death in 2006.
