She has a background in literature, classical ballet, and both film and opera directing, with experience in Norway, Germany, and New York. She founded and ran Opera Mobile for 12 years and has been with Norsk Kammeropera since 1994, also working as a freelance director internationally. Randers-Pehrson started Operakaféen in Oslo in 1997 and received several awards, including Oslo’s artist prize in 1989.
