Ago Gaškov is an Estonian journalist, born on December 25, 1959, in Valga. He grew up in a working-class family and attended Lüllemäe School and Tartu 5th High School. Gaškov graduated as a geological engineer from the University of Tartu in 1983 and worked in geological services until 1987. He became a correspondent for ERR in Virumaa until 2015 and later served as a press representative for the Ida-Viru County government. Gaškov is now a freelance journalist and was elected vice chairman of the Estonian Journalists' Union in 2017. He is interested in EU-Russia relations and enjoys traveling, theater, and music.
