Ahmad Ashourpour was an Iranian singer, composer, and lyricist, born on February 6, 1918, and passed away on January 11, 2008. He is known for his songs primarily in the Gilaki language, with some in Persian as well. Ashourpour is often referred to as the father of local music in Gilan. He was also one of the first Iranian singers to perform pop-style songs, earning him the title of the father of pop music in Iran.
