Alejandro Jodorowsky Prullansky (born February 17, 1929) is a Chilean-French filmmaker, playwright, screenwriter, actor, author, poet, producer, musician, cartoonist, and spiritual teacher. Born to Ukrainian Jewish parents in Chile, Jodorowsky experienced a troubled childhood and developed a passion for poetry. He delved into theater and later cinema, creating influential works such as 'El Topo' and 'The Holy Mountain.' His projects often explore surrealism and esotericism, leading to a distinctive career. Jodorowsky also authored influential comic series and books on his spiritual philosophy, called psychomagic.
