Aleksandr Ivanovich Polovinkin (March 8, 1937 - January 28, 2018) was a Soviet and Russian scientist. He earned a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in 1971. Polovinkin served as the rector of Volgograd State Technical University from 1983 to 1988. He was born in Ershovsky, Chelyabinsk Oblast, USSR, and passed away in Volgograd, Russia.
